Feminine yoga and the chakras

I want to share something interesting I’ve noticed over my years doing this work…

I see a lot of women very spiritually connected (overdeveloped upper chakras) with a disconnect from their lower chakras (read: body, primal instincts and sensuality).

Their psychic senses are awake, but their primal instincts and sensual power are untapped.

There are a lot of reasons this might be the case, but that’s not the purpose of this post….

For me, I actually access the depth of my knowing from deep in my body – especially my womb. Though I wasn’t always connected to this!

I used to be one of those overgiving, heart-centered women but not rooted in their feminine power – which very much has its seat in our womb/pelvis.

I did a lot of meditation and yoga, but wasn’t really in relationship with my deeper instinctual nature as woman.

To inhabit our pelvis – the power place in our female body – is an essential rite as woman. One that is sadly often overlooked.

This is often experienced of a homecoming.

Of landing in one’s self.

Feeling rooted and anchored in one’s inner knowing and authority.

AND a place where we can create safety for ourselves.

It is our throne 👑

Shakti Yoga is a practice that deeply supports this process as we inhabit the pelvis and our deep feminine core.

This doesn’t happen overnight.

It requires a regular and intentional dropping down of the awareness into the womb and pelvis – which is an emphasis in Shakti Yoga.

Doing this with the mind usually isn’t enough… which is why all of the ways we move and breathe in Shakti Yoga bring to life the energy here.

The felt sense becomes a gateway to inhabit this space, and access its wisdom, power and pleasure. Which is exactly what I love to support women with!! ♥️

The womb is naturally a magnetic centre in the body that calls our center of gravity deeper into our body.

The more it awakens, the more easily and naturally we settle into the space, deep in the literal center of our body.
