Sacred Feminine, Womb wisdom

Seven lessons from seven years tending wombs

This month marks seven years since I returned from the Redwoods, where I learned the hands-on art of womb healing with Naomi Love (Wise Womb Medicine Path). I’ve been receiving clients in my womb temple consistently ever since, and these are some of the lessons I’ve learned along the way.

1. Less is more

Often the most powerful moments in a session are not the techniques, but the intentional pauses. Holding the pelvic bones with full presence. A reassuring hand on the shoulder in a tender moment.

Not seeking an outcome, but creating space to meet what is here and let the body unravel in its own time.

True loving presence and genuine care can heal more than technique. Tending my own nervous system is one of the most important gifts I can bring to my clients.

2. Women need spaces like these

Women’s bodies and souls long for ritual remembering — to be held and tended to with devotion and care. To consecrate time and space for themselves to fully and deeply receive.

One of the most common things I hear from clients is: “All women should experience this.”

I agree.

Receiving touch without agenda is one of the most healing forces there is for women — especially on the belly, breasts and womb.

3. Thresholds are sacred

Some of my favourite sessions are when a woman is in the midst of a transition — grief, rebirth, heartbreak, change, all of it.

There’s often a tenderness there, a cracking open, and I love creating spaces where she can root into the unknown and let herself be met inside the rawness of what’s moving.

These tend to be the times when women have the biggest breakthroughs too.

4. Healing is gradual and cannot be forced

Pressure and expectation are barriers to healing and opening. Building relationship with the womb is gradual.

Yes, sometimes women have epiphanies, but mostly it’s a process of slow, steady descent into the body. It’s more like tapping into a bubbling spring than it is a lightning strike.

I don’t seek big cathartic releases with my clients anymore — but if that happens, I’m fully here for it.

I actually don’t resonate with being a “healer” — but healing absolutely happens in these spaces. We create the conditions for that to happen together.

The sessions that feel most potent are the ones where a woman is devoted to her own path of healing and remembrance.

5. Plants are magical — and I couldn’t do this work without them

One of the most beautiful parts of this work has been weaving with plants. Mother Nature is so generous with her medicines.

I use plants to brush over the body, for energy work, and to awaken the senses in the Maya tradition as learned with my teacher.

The plants I work with in my sessions — including rose — are incredible healing allies who bring so much magic, medicine and beauty into the space.

6. I stand by slow work

The feminine does not like to be rushed. This is why I only offer long sessions (2 hour minimum) in packages of three.

This is why I sit and drink tea with each woman before we begin — because the context of her life matters.

This is why I allow spacious transitions and integration inside each session.

This is why I only see a small number of clients each week.

Safety builds with trust and time, and when there is safety, the body softens and opens.

7. Deep feminine medicine becomes available when we make space for it

When women book in for this work, they are making themselves a priority. They are making a commitment to themselves, and it is truly such an honour to be entrusted with this space by the women who show up for it.

Another thing women often share is how ancient this work feels, and that it is experienced as a remembering.

A lot of my clients are more psychic than I am and can sense the “many hands” at work in the womb temple.

I don’t claim to be a shaman or medicine woman. If anything, the work feels more sister-to-sister.

I see myself as a midwife of sorts, holding space for a woman as she births herself — reminding her of her beauty and power.

Thank you to every woman who has entered my temple space over the years. It is an honour I never take lightly.
